Preparing for Worship - October 22, 2017

By Pastor Matt Sikes

As you spend some time this weekend considering how to stir up one another to love and good works take some time to review what we will be doing in our corporate worship service this weekend.

This Sunday the children’s choir will be joining us in our worship service. This is another opportunity for them to model what child-like faith looks like and for us to model for them what corporate worship with the body of Christ from all generations looks like. They will begin the service by giving our Call to Worship with the “Sing Praises to the Lord.”

As a congregation we will be singing:

O God Our Help in Ages Past  (Paraphrase of Psalm 90)

We Will Feat in the House of Zion

Christ Is Risen, He Is Risen Indeed

There Is a Redeemer

Nothing but the Blood

The Children’s Choir will also be singing This Is My Father’s World for the offertory. Pastor Brady will be preaching from Mark 12:18-27 and the title of his sermon will be “About the Resurrection.” We will also be taking communion this Sunday.

Please take some time to read through the sermon text, review the songs that we will be singing together, and pray for all involved in leading the service. Pray that the Lord will once again prepare our hearts to meet him in corporate worship this week.

See you Sunday!
