Preparing for Worship – May 28, 2017

By Pastor Matt Sikes

This Sunday we will begin a new sermon series, “Reconciled.” This series will begin in 2 Corinthians 5 and show us how we, as those who belong to Christ, have been reconciled to God through Christ and are called to be Ambassadors for Christ to the world. This series will lead us into Grace Gives, which is coming up in just a few short weeks.

In preparation for Grace Gives we will also be introducing a new congregational song called “For the Cause.” This song fits well with the sermon series that focuses on the ministry of reconciliation. You can listen to it below.

Our Call to Worship this Sunday will come from Psalm 118.

The songs that we will be singing are:

All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name

Christ the Sure and Steady Anchor

For the Cause

The Greatness of Our God

Jesus Paid It All

Pastor Mark will be preaching this Sunday. The title of his sermon will be “Ambassadors for Christ” and his text will be 2 Cor 5:11-21. As always, we encourage you to read this text as you prepare for worship. Also, please pray that our hearts, minds, and ears would be open and receptive as we hear the word of God proclaimed. Likewise, please pray that we will all come together remembering that we are there to enter the dialogue of corporate worship with our gracious and merciful God as the people of God. Let’s also not forget to “consider how to stir up one another to love and good works” (Heb. 10:24).

See you Sunday!
