Preparing for Worship - October 1, 2017

By Pastor Matt Sikes

As we look ahead to this Sunday’s worship service I would encourage you to take the time once again to remember how our lives of daily worship – both in spending time in personal intentional times of worship and as we “present our bodies as living sacrifices” in everything we say and do – throughout the week help to prepare us for corporate worship on Sunday. Remember that it will be difficult to see Jesus as most glorious and to be worshipped above all other gods if we don’t also view him in that way Monday through Saturday.

In what ways can you spend time in prayer asking God to reveal the idolatry that has been manifested in your heart this week and ask him to remind you once again of the glorious grace that is ours through Jesus? Use this as a time of confession and repentance as you ask our Lord to prepare you to meet him in worship with Grace Baptist Church this Sunday.

For this Sunday:

We will be singing:

O Worship the King

Not In Me

The Compassion Hymn

Love Divine

Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery

This Sunday Pastor Brady will be continuing to preach on our series from the Gospel of Mark. His text will be Mark 11:12-25. We encourage you to read and pray through this passage with your family or by yourself in preparation for hearing the sermon. Pray that the Lord would speak through Pastor Brady and that we would have ears to hear and hearts to receive the food of his Word. And, as always, let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works.

See you Sunday!
