Preparing For Worship - May 7, 2017

By Pastor Matt Sikes

As we prepare for this week’s corporate worship service, I want you to know about a new song that we will be singing. It is Psalm 62 (My Soul Finds Rest) written by Aaron Keyes and Stuart Townend. You may recognize it as our choir has sung this in previous worship services.

This Psalm helps us to focus on God’s unchanging character. It serves as a reminder that no matter what the world may try to throw at us and no matter what struggles and temptations may come from within our own hearts, we can fix our gaze on Christ. He is our fortress and our souls can find rest in him alone. Christ is our delight and our reward.

Congregational Songs for this Sunday:

Below you will find links or listening files for all of the songs that we will be singing this Sunday. I encourage you to take some time to listen to the songs and familiarize yourself with each as you prepare to join with our church family and “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God” (Col. 3:16).

Pastor Brady will be preaching this Sunday. We will be continuing in our series on the Gospel of Mark. The title of the sermon is “Greed or Grace” and the text will be Mark 10:17-31. We encourage you to read through the text with your family as prepare for worship. Please pray for everyone who will be leading in the worship service this week.
