By Pastor Matt Sikes
This Sunday we will be officially kicking off our week of Grace Gives! We are all so excited about this wonderful week of serving and what better way to begin than by gathering with our church family and worshipping our amazing Savior and stirring up one another to love and good works?
We have been singing the song “For the Cause” over the last few weeks, which is serving as our unofficial Grace Give theme song. This Sunday also happens to be the Getty Music “Global Hymn Sing,” which we will be participating in. It worked out to be the same Sunday as our Grace Gives kickoff and it is a wonderful opportunity. This is a brief statement from their website which explains what the Global Hymn Sing is about: “Join millions of believers worldwide by teaching this song to your church as a way to focus on the imperative need for the Gospel to go to all nations.” We will be submitting a video of our congregation singing this song after the fact and they will compile videos of churches all around the world singing “For the Cause” in different contexts and languages. It’s a unique opportunity to be part of something global while we worship with our local church family.
As you prepare for this Sunday we ask that you would pray once again for us all to consider how God is working in our midst and how we can continue to submit to him in every area of our lives. Pastor Mark will be preaching from Luke 10:25-37 and the title of his sermon will be “Who Is My Neighbor.” Please take a few minutes to read and pray through this passage as you prepare worship.
The songs we will be singing are:
Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing
For the offertory the choir and orchestra will be joined by the Friends Choir as well as the Children’s Choir for a very special anthem that will help to prepare us for Grace Gives. As always, we look forward to this great time of worship as we all meet together once again.
See you Sunday!
