About AWANA

6:00pm Sundays at Grace Baptist Church
(only during the school year)

Awana Clubs are for kids from the age of 2-years-old to 5th grade. It offers an opportunity for your child to continue to grow in their knowledge of God and His Son Jesus Christ. God is changing the world through the ministry of Awana by equipping leaders to reach kids with the gospel and engaging them in long-term discipleship.

We will be providing a hybrid model for Awana this 20-21 year.  Preschool clubbers will have the option to join us online as we start the Awana year.  Elementary clubbers will have the option of being online or in person.  The church leadership will continue to monitor the impacts of COVID-19 and reevaluate the plan as the year progresses.

In order to provide for the safety of our families, we have health procedures in place for families who choose to participate in person.

What to Expect for In-Person Families

Please park in the parking lot and walk your children to the main entrance doors next to the church office. We will not allow drop-offs, since parents will be required to answer the health questions for their children. The only open doors will be at the church office. It is important for any person kindergarten and above to wear a mask and observe social distancing while in the building.

Once in the building, an Awana leader will perform a health check for your family and each person staying, child and adult, will receive a temperature check with a no touch thermometer. The three questions for the health check are:

  1. Does anyone in your family have COVID-like symptoms (cough, shortness of breath, fever of 100.4 or higher, chills, shivering, muscle pain, sore throat, headache, loss of taste or smell, and gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea)?

  2. Has anyone in your family been diagnosed with COVID-19, waiting for a COVID-19 test result, or instructed by any health care provider or health department to isolate or quarantine?

  3. Has anyone in your family in the last 14 days been in close contact (within 6-feet) with anyone with COVID-19 or suspected to have COVID-19?

After your children have been registered, we will direct them where to sit in the Sanctuary. On the first night, September 13, we will have an important parent night so parents can stay with their children and learn the new Awana format and procedures.

At 7:15pm, parents will wait at the registration table in the foyer and leaders will call each individual family for dismissal.

Once you have picked up your children, please exit the building so we can have a smooth departure and maintain social distancing.
